Guwahati, June 1st, 2024 – NorthEast United FC announce the appointment of Suhel Nair as the new Head of Youth Development and Head Coach of the Under 17 team. An AFC ‘A’ Licensed Coach, Suhel joins the club after a highly successful tenure as the Head of Bengaluru FC’s Grassroots Program, one of the best in the country. During his three years as the Head of Bengaluru FC’s Grassroots program, Suhel achieved significant success, making the program one of the best in India. He was responsible for designing and implementing the technical curriculum for Youth Development programs ensuring player progress pathways at the club. Suhel has been coaching and heading Youth Programs across the country for the past 10 years. He has also had a stint leading a coaching program at a professional club in Canada. Suhel Nair brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in youth football development. He holds a Master's Degree in Sociology, a Degree in Physical Education, and is a Licensed Coach Educator with the All India Football Federation (AIFF). His role with AIFF involved delivering grassroots coaching program to coaches nationwide. His understanding of the game, combined with his educational background and coaching credentials, makes him a valuable addition to NorthEast United FC.
