NorthEast United FC have landed Austrian forward Marco Sahanek to bolster the team's attack.
He started his journey in 2007 in his native country and has played the majority of his football in Austria. Marco has played for many Austrian sides namely SK Schwadorf, Admira Wacker,Wolfsberger AC, SV Kapfenberg, Austria Klagenfurt, SV Horn, FC Wacker Innsbruck, SV Horn, Austria Klagenfurt, Floridsdorfer AC, Admira Wacker.
The 31-year-old attacker made his first move out of Austria and signed for Maltese side Hibernians in 2017 before returning to the club in 2019 for a loan move from Floridsdorfer AC. His best stint came in for Austrian outfit Floridsdorfer AC as he scored 12 times in 22 outings in the 2020-21 season.
In 2021, he made his first move out of Europe and joined Thailand’s top-flight club Nakhon Ratchasima. He played 11 games in Thai League 1 and scored two goals.
Marco Sahanek is a versatile player and can play in multiple attacking positions. He now joins NorthEast United to help the team strengthen and bring more flair to the team's attack.
